We knew that the
Alpha series range from
Sony is going to get meatier, but not at this cost. Sony today launched the new
Alpha 7 and 7R in India, which are built brilliantly with the latest optics and top-notch megapixel sensors. While the Alpha 7 has a 24.3 MP sensor, the 7R has a whoopin 36.4 MP sensor. Both are aimed at professionals who want the best shot from their cameras.
The two are interchangeable
mirrorless DSLR’s, which can shoot full-frame images. Over that, the duo has intelligent auto focus system for quick and speedy shots. These can also shoot videos in Full HD 1080p mode and one can also enjoy shooting at various angles using the large swivel out screen at the back. However, there are few kinks in the shining armour. Both have an electronic viewfinder that many photographers do not desire. They are on the heavier side and then there is the
price.
We were hoping Sony would throw a lens if not two within the price. However, the body-only Alpha 7 is available for Rs 94,990 and
Alpha 7R has an exorbitant price tag of Rs 1,24,990.
