Sneaky Cubs Fan Makes Spectacular Catch And Then Tricks Everybody By Throwing Back A Different Ball
In the second inning of the Brewers' 3-1 win over the Chicago Cubs, Mark Reynolds hit a home run to give Milwaukee an early lead. But it was the catch by a Cubs fan that caught the attention of those in attendance.
The older fan, sitting in the last row of the left field bleachers, reached over the Wrigley fence to make the spectacular catch.
The catch led to this amazing photo by a Chicago Tribune photographer.
After making the catch, in the tradition of Wrigley Field home runs by visiting players, the fan emphatically threw the ball back on to the field.
Or did he? The Cubs announcers immediately noticed the darker color on the ball thrown by the fan, calling it a "1950s baseball."
Take a closer look. It appears that the fan grabs another ball out off the bench and throws that ball.
Sneaky!
After throwing the fake ball, the fan proudly posed for a photo with his prize.
