Snapchat is making itself a more powerful tool for location search by adding the ability to see reviews, contact info, directions, and more without leaving the app.

The new feature announced Tuesday, called Context Cards, allows anyone to swipe up to see relevant information about the location of a photo or video snap message.

Snapchat parent Snap Inc. has partnered with a handful of companies to provide details like directions, customer reviews, or the ability to make reservations at a restaurant. The full launch list of Context Cards partners includes TripAdvisor, Foursquare, Michelin, Goop, Uber, Lyft, OpenTable, and Resy. Snap plans to add more partners over time.

Context Cards will be shown under snaps that are user-submitted to Snapchat's Our Stories feature, which shows snaps for specific events and locations through search and Snap Maps. Additionally, any snaps tagged with a white text geofilter showing its location name will include the new feature.

A Snap spokesperson declined to comment on deal terms with Context Card partners, but said that the feature was built off the company's $114.5 million acquisition of mobile search app Vurb last year.

While Context Cards won't be a revenue driver for Snap initially, the move opens up another potential way for the app to monetize eventually. Snapchat users collectively create 3 billion snaps per day, according to the company.

Here's a video by Snap that shows Context Cards in action:
