He's known to rally people to help him create his content.
Once, he sent a Snapchat that asked people to meet him in Union Square to create a Snapchat story. Hundreds of people showed up within minutes.
So it's not a surprise that when he asks his followers to help him out, they're willing.
And that's what happened when Jarre tweeted that he was going to be arrested on an American Airlines flight heading to Miami on Tuesday night.
LANDING IN MIAMI IN 3 MINUTES. ABOUT TO BE ARRESTED. I NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Allegedly, the internet darling emerged from a bathroom on an American Airlines flight donning a speedo and carrying an inflatable duck. This prank was for a Vine, tweets Jarre, but the flight attendants were not having it.

MTV reports that within an hour, #AmericanAirlinesCHILLOUT was trending worldwide.
The rest of the night looked like this:
JUST LANDED. ABOUT TO BE ARRESTED. PLEASE TWEET & RT #AmericanAirlinesCHILLOUT ?? pic.twitter.com/HGHJNesp9r
- JEROME JARRE (@jeromejarre) October 28, 2014
COPS ARE ENTERING THE FLIGHT ??

Then, three hours later:
I AM FREE!!!! YOU ALL ARE THE BEST FRIENDS IN THE WORKD ?? pic.twitter.com/EvARQVYMK5
- JEROME JARRE (@jeromejarre) October 29, 2014
But it's unclear that Jarre was every actually arrested or that there was a threat that he would be.
An American Airlines flight from Mexico City did arrive at Miami International Airport at 8:03 p.m. ET on October 28, which does align with the timing established in Jarre's tweets.
His photos from Tuesday also prove that his flight was real, even if the encounter with law enforcement might not have been.
Neither the Miami-Dade County Police or American Airlines have returned Business Insider's request for comment, but one thing is for certain: if you're ever in trouble, it may help to have millions of fans ready to do whatever it takes to lend you a hand (or a tweet.)
