Jayalalithaa has given 80 hits of 85 Tamil films, 28 hit Telugu and a Bollywood hit too.

Her name is in the Guinness Book of World Records for hosting the largest wedding reception in 1995. She organised an obscenely lavish wedding for her ‘foster son’ Sudhagaran.

She was highest paid Indian actress from 1965-77.She had 119 box office hits out of 125 films as the lead heroine.

Jayalalithaa’s parents called her ‘Ammu’. When she became popular as an actress, she was called ‘Thangagoopuram’ and ‘Thangachillai’.

When she became the chief minister, she accepted Re 1 as salary.
