Urbanpod is started by Shalabh Mittal and Hiren Gandhi, who have replicated their pod-hotel experience from Singapore. They brought in Berlin Lee, a partner with some experience running capsule hotels, and architecture firm Formwerkz for the design.

Urbanpod offers 140-pods with various upgrades and are arranged, side-by-side and one-upward. The cost varies between Rs 1800 and Rs 3200, excluding taxes.
