Ravi Shankar Prasad, who is now serving his second term at India’s Information and Technology Minister, has announced that one of his top priorities is going to be getting India’s Personal Data Protection, 2018 to Parliament as soon as possible.

The government is currently working on certain amendments that it wants to make to bill. All in all, the implementation of the bill will mean two things for users. One, they will technically have more control over how and where their data is stored. But, on the other hand, enforcement of the bill could mean that the government has more access to your data under the guise of ‘national security’.

Paytm is looking to acquire Coverfox, an insurtech start up, for a whopping $120 million. This could be a signal that Paytm is ready to foray into the insurance space. Paytm founder, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, had earlier told Business Insider that it is looking to double down on investments in 2019 and one of the sectors that the company is looking into is insurance.
