The largest tiger reserve of Tamil Nadu in Southern India, Anamalai Tiger Reserve, is located at the Elephant hills popularly known as Anamalai hills.

Apart from tigers, the reserve also has 80 species of mammals, 120 species of reptiles, 140 species of fish and amphibians along with and nearly 300 species of birds.
