Photos show what it's like flying in the luxurious first-class cabin on the record-breaking nonstop flight from Hawaii to Boston
The first nonstop flight will be on April 4, 2019, a spokesperson for the airline told Business Insider. The flight, which will take approximately 10 hours, will depart Honolulu at 1:45 p.m. every day except for Tuesday and Wednesday and arrive in Boston the next morning at 6 a.m.
Flights from Boston will depart every day but Wednesday and Thursday at 8:55 a.m. — except for Friday flights which will leave at 8 a.m. — and land in Hawaii the same day at 2:35 p.m. The Friday flight will arrive at 1:49 p.m.

Boston is Hawaiian Airlines' largest US market that previously had no nonstop service to Hawaii, according to the airline. Nearly 500 people fly between eastern New England and Hawaii on any given day.

The duration of the flight could range from 10 hours up to as much as 11 hours and 40 minutes, CNN reported. Two meals will be served in each direction, created by the airline's executive chef, Lee Anne Wong, in collaboration with some of Hawaii's top chefs.

Those hours might seem to pass more quickly in Hawaiian Airline's first class cabin, which features 18 luxurious leather seats that transform into 180-degree beds. The cabin's design is inspired by Hawaii's environment, with tones of earth, sand, and sea, according to the airline. "Sinuous curves of the seat and translucent materials create an open, airy feel and evoke gentle ocean waves," the website reads.

Ticket prices can vary, but a first class, round trip ticket from Honolulu to Boston started at about $4,300 in April 2019 at the time of publication. The cheapest main cabin ticket was about $616.

Along with its new nonstop flight, the airline announced that it recently expanded the number of its Extra Comfort seats in the main cabin from 40 to 68. Those in the Extra Comfort seats also get priority boarding and extra leg room, but no lie-flat seats.

Hawaiian's Boston to Honolulu flight may be the longest US flight by distance, but some other long-haul trips come close to the flight time. A United Airlines flight from Newark, New Jersey, to Honolulu can take up to 10 hours and 50 minutes. And Delta's flight from Atlanta to Honolulu is nearly 10 hours long.
