Five Netflix shows you shouldn’t watch while eating

Even if you do not watch Stranger Things during meals, this show can keep you off jelly, peanut butter and jam for a few weeks at least.

This PG13 show is a perfect family watch and has adorable kids in it too. But beware of watching it while chowing down, as the show’s mysterious enemy is an expanding glue-like substance.

It can also double-up in different states as a liquid. Moreso, it can make human skin crawl — literally. Bits of it can even grow into misshapen organisms. So do not venture into Stranger Things, unless you want to see your stomach go upside down.

The first chapter of this Stephen King novel is as bad as the second which has critters with baby faces. For one, most of the story happens in sewers and like one of the characters says, “Keep away from gray water.”

Apart from the sewage action, the first movie has a scene with litres of blood shooting from the wash basin, filling the face and bathroom of Beverly Marsh. Even if you manage to fast forward through the scene, there is more blood, eyes and body part action littered all through the movie.

This is one show in the list which will keep you from eating your meal without grossing you out. In fact, this show is all things wonderful and beautiful in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, with éclairs and cupcakes.

But all the unbelievably thin and gorgeous people wearing sizes 1, 3 and 5 — will make you lose appetite. Those who insist on watching it during meals can actually shift to salads. They might even be inspired enough to eat kale and quinoa.

The ironic part of keeping food away while watching this movie is that, the movie’s heroine is a cupcake maker. There are enough scenes where she bakes gorgeous looking cakes and designs them in an appetizing way.

But the highlight of this movie is the scene where all the women shopping for bridesmaids' dresses get diarrhea in a high-end dress shop — after eating testing off-beat cuisine for the wedding. As bathrooms are few and people are many, one bridesmaid took the pot, another the sink while the poor bride ends up taking a dump in the middle of the street.

So, no, do not watch it while eating.
