Team USA athletes Simone Biles and Laurie Hernandez have dominated the gymnastics competitions at this year's Olympics.
Both have made it to first place on the scoreboard, with Hernandez, 16, picking up one gold medal, and Biles, 19, scooping up three gold medals.
To show the world just how far they have come, Biles tweeted an adorable photo of herself with Hernandez from their childhood, inspiring girls to "dream big" - just before they competed in the balance beam finals on Monday (August 15).

Though Biles had hoped to become the first woman to ever win five gold medals in one Olympics Games, that dream was dashed in the competition, when she lost her balance during a front flip.

But she stumbled during a front flip, placing her hands on the beam to maintain her balance, losing her chance to secure another gold medal.

Instead, Sanee Wever from the Netherlands won gold, while Biles came in third with a bronze medal. Coming in second place, Hernandez was awarded the silver medal for her impressive performance.

While they may not have scored the gold medal, Biles and Hernandez are still an inspiration to girls everywhere.
As the photo from their childhood - and their dedication in the Olympics - shows, it pays off to "dream big."
