Shares of IL&FS Transportation Networks slipped to 15-month lows

Shares of IL&FS Transportation Networks, a mid-sized road construction company, slumped to 15-month lows after quarterly earnings plunged.

IL&FS Transportation said its first quarter profit crashed 97 percent to 2.9 crore rupees compared with 137.7 crore rupees in the same quarter a year ago. Sales rose 5 percent to 1,644.4 crore rupees during April-June compared with 1,564.2 crore rupees in the year ago period.

IL&FS Transportation fell 4.25 rupees, or 2.9 percent, to 142 rupees, its lowest since May 2014 on the National Stock Exchange, where 6.76 lakh shares were traded compared with 5-day average of 4.23 lakhs.

IL&FS Transportation's market capitalisation has dropped 31 percent to 3,475 crore rupees over one year.
