Sensex surges by 171 points; top 15 stocks to watch out for today

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex has jumped by 171 points in morning trade today. The surge was led by gains HDFC, Axis Bank, Infosys and Tata Motors.

Similarly, the 50-share Nifty index, too, regained its psychological level of 8,750 points, owing to gains in auto, banks, information technology and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) stocks.

At 10:20 a.m., the 30-share index was trading at 29,039 – an increase of 156 points or 0.54%. It reached a high of 29,054.26 and a low of 28,824.88 in intra-day trade today.

The Nifty was trading at 8,761.55 – an increase of 38 points or 0.44%. It reached a high of 8,768.30 and a low of 8,705.55 in intra-day trade today.
