Peloton has pulled its commercial with Chris Noth off social media
Peloton has pulled its commercial with Chris Noth off social media after the actor was accused of sexual assault by two women this week, according to multiple reports.
Noth, 67, appeared in a new Peloton ad on Sunday after his character Mr. Big in HBO Max's "And Just Like That" died while using the popular exercise bike in the first episode of the "Sex and the City" spinoff series.
On Thursday, Peloton deleted the ad from Youtube and social media posts referencing it, Variety reported.
"Every single sexual assault accusation must be taken seriously. We were unaware of these allegations when we featured Chris Noth in our response to HBO's reboot," a Peloton spokesperson told Variety. "As we seek to learn more, we have stopped promoting this video and archived related social posts."
The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday reported that two women accused Noth of sexually assaulting them in separate incidents in 2004 and in 2015.
The Los Angeles Police Department is currently "looking into" whether any police reports of such allegations have been filed, a department spokeswoman told Insider on Friday.
"We're trying to look to narrow down when and where if the report was filed," said Officer Rosario Cervantes, noting that an official investigation into the matter has not yet been launched.
The actor denied the allegations in a statement to Insider.
"The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false," Noth said in his statement. "These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross."
"The encounters were consensual. It's difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out," Noth continued in a statement. "I don't know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women."
Peloton did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
