I did cold plunges at home for a week. I felt energized and my muscles were less sore, but it wasn't worth it.

While looking for a self-care ritual I could do at home as a new mom, I came across cold plunges.
I decided to try them out every day for a week by filling my bathtub with ice water.
As a new mom with my own business, I don't have much downtime. Booking massages or even finding an hour for a pedicure is hard most weeks — not to mention how expensive those appointments can be.
When I started researching easy and beneficial things I could do at home, I kept running into cold plunges — submerging all or part of your body in cold water for a short period of time. The wellness trend seems to be widely touted for its potential physical and mental benefits.
Although some people go as far as buying $65,000 cold-plunge tubs for their homes, basic cold-water immersion really only requires, well, cold water. I thought it could be a convenient self-care option if it works for me since I already have a bathtub.
I figured I'd give cold plunges a try for one week. Here's how it went.
