Within hours, CVS locations in almost every city in New York were fully booked out of vaccine appointments, though the company said availability can change quickly based on demand.

"As supply becomes available, appointments will open up," CVS spokesperson Tara Burke told Insider. "As supply opens up, we will open additional locations."

Fully booked cities include New York City, Syracuse, Buffalo, and Albany. As of 11:41 a.m., available appointments only existed in Cortland, Endicott, and Wayland.

Burke said CVS cannot comment on the specific time patients unable to schedule appointments on Tuesday can sign up next, but said the company will open more appointments as soon as supplies increases.

This is a developing story.
