Thunderstorms lead to collapse of homes, airline traffic

The rainfall and winds however came with a cost, exposing the weak infrastructure of the country. At least four houses in different parts of Delhi collapsed on Monday morning, and waterlogging was reported in several areas of Delhi including the national highway 48.

Several areas also reported power blackouts due to strong winds - making power failure a common theme across summer and monsoons alike. Flight operations too were affected at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday morning.
