Schedule for Haryana assembly elections 2019

At present, the BJP government is in power in the state of Haryana. The party won 47 seats out of 70 in 2014 general elections. The five year tenure of the present government is coming to a close on November 2, 2019. Hence the Election Commission has declared a single phase election for the state wherein all the 70 seats will go for polling on the same day. In a recent press meeting conducted on Saturday, September 21, 2019 in the capital of India, Sunil Arora, the Chief Election Commissioner announced all the dates and procedures of the upcoming state assembly elections in Haryana.
The official notification about the state assembly elections will be published in the gazette of India on Friday, September 27, 2019.
The last date for the contesting candidates to file their nominations is Friday, October 4, 2019.
All the filed applications will be scrutinized by the election commission on Monday, October 5, 2019 and on the same day, the EC will declare if the nominations are accepted or not.

If any candidates look forward to withdraw their nominations, they can do so before Monday, October 7, 2019.
The date of the general elections for the state will be Monday, October 21, 2019.
The counting of the votes for all the constituencies will happen on Thursday, October 24, 2019 and the results will be announced shortly by evening on the same day.
The total number of seats in the Haryana State assembly is 70. The election will see all the seats going for polls in single phase on the same day on Monday, October 21, 2019. The ruling BJP government won 47 seats in the 2014 assembly elections, leaving the Congress party with only 15 seats.
