The weather system won't be as severe by the time it reaches Britain, but the Environment Agency warned in a statement that many parts of the UK are at risk of flooding.

Here's a satellite image showing the storm moving across the Atlantic toward the United Kingdom:

The storm, which is still bigger than all of France and Germany combined, might cause flooding in many areas of Britain that are still recovering from December's floods.

The Environment Agency announced the areas most at risk are Cumbria, Lancashire, and Yorkshire. Chris Wilding, National Flood Duty Manager at the Environment Agency, said there was also a risk of high waves along the south west and north west coasts.

"Our thoughts are with all those who have suffered serious flooding over the past few months," Wilding said. He added: "It is once again vital that people prepare for heavy rainfall and the risk of further flooding."
