Sarah Huckabee Sanders read aloud a letter from a 9-year-old Trump fan
"To remind us a little bit more often about some of the forgotten men, women, and children that we're here to serve and that the president is fighting for, we're going to start the White House briefing every once in awhile with a letter or an email that we may receive from some of those individuals," Sanders said, before reading Dylan's letter aloud.
"I'm nine years old and you're my favorite president," Sanders read. "I like you so much that I had a birthday about you. My cake was the shape of your hat."
Sanders said that Dylan asked how old the president is, how big the White House is, and whether Trump would be his friend.
"I'm happy to say that I directly spoke to the president, Dylan and he would be more than happy to be your friend," Sanders said.
Former President Barack Obama was known for reading 10 letters from constituents every night, some of which he would respond to personally. The handful were selected by the White House Office of Correspondence from the tens of thousands that the president received daily and chosen to be representative of the sentiments expressed in all of the letters.
