The news just keeps getting better from the
Samsung S6 and
S6 Edge launch in New Delhi today. Besides saying that key R&D for the new phones were done out of Samsung's Indian R&D centre, the tech behemoth also said that it could soon be manufacturing the S6 and S6 Edge in India.
Samsung unveiled its Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones at an event in India on Monday. The phones, that start at a price point of Rs 49,900 for the Galaxy S6 and at Rs 58,900 for the S6 Edge will be available in India from April 10, in sync with the global availability.

Samsung India Electronics said at the launch that the Indian R&D centers of Samsung have contributed significantly to the design and innovation that have gone into making the new Galaxy smartphones. He also said that the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will eventually be made in India.
Samsung will start manufacturing its latest flagships in India. Samsung has two manufacturing facilities in India apart from three R&D centers. Warsi said the company will begin manufacturing these cutting edge technologies in India sooner than later.
