Samsung launches its second Tizen-based smartphone Z3 available at Rs 8,490

Reaffirming its commitment to strengthen the device portfolio on the operating system and its ecosystem in India, Samsung Electronics has come out with its second Tizen-based smartphone Z3 at a price of Rs 8,490.
From next week, the new smartphone will be available across all Samsung's retail channels in the country. It will also be available online, exclusively on Snapdeal.
The next generation Tizen smartphone, Samsung Z3 is a make in India device, which will come packed with a host of services and features.
The launch of Samsung Z3 re-emphasizes India's significance as a key centre for innovation and development on the Tizen operating system, with India being the first country to launch the Z3, said Asim Warsi, vice president, marketing, IT & mobile at Samsung India.
He added that the company was encouraged by the huge popularity of Samsung Z1, the first Tizen OS powered smartphone that sold over one million units within six months of its launch earlier this year.
The Tizen OS has seen significant growth as an ecosystem, the company said.
Samsung is targeting the first time smartphone users with the Z3. Tizen helps deliver high levels of customization, given that it is an open source platform, the company said.
Samsung Z3 comes preloaded with a new Rewarding platform My Galaxy, which would extend personalized exclusive deals and offers to consumers. Samsung's exclusive partnership with Mix Radio.
According to the company, the incorporation of new features such as Ultra Data Saving mode, which offers up to 40% mobile data savings, coupled with Ultra Power Saving mode makes Z3 efficient.
