Samsung just announced when it'll reveal the Galaxy Note 9
Samsung sent out press invites on Wednesday for its Unpacked event on Thursday, August 9, when the company will most likely announce the successor to the Galaxy Note 8.
So far, the device is generally known as the Galaxy Note 9.
The event will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Samsung's Galaxy Note smartphones are the company's large-screened devices that come with the S Pen stylus. Indeed, Samsung's invite seemingly shows the S Pen's button.
The invite also hints to different color options for the Galaxy Note's S Pen, which typically only comes in black. Whether we can expect the Galaxy Note 9 itself to come in similarly vibrant colors as the S Pen colors alluded to in the invitation has yet to be seen.
The Galaxy Note 9 is rumored to come with a similar design as the Note 8 with a few cues taken from the Galaxy S9, like having a fingerprint sensor underneath the camera rather than next to it.
Other rumors claim the Note 9 will come with a fingerprint scanner embedded underneath the display, but that feature seems less and less likely.
Spec-wise, the Galaxy Note 9 is expected to come with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 that runs most of the flagship devices from 2018. Samsung has typically used the most powerful mobile chip on the year for its Galaxy Note phones.
Whatever the rumors, we'll get the facts on August 9 during Samsung's event.
