Saeed Jaffrey, the famous Brit-Indian actor who was awarded the Order of the British Empire for his contributions to drama, first Indian to do so, breathed his last yesterday in London. Born in Malerkotla, Punjab, Jaffrey earned his repute in both India and Britain for his performances in both films and television. He was also actively involved in theatre, having founded Unity Theatre in New Delhi in the heydays of Indian theatre.
