  • The Russian Defense Ministry released a video on Monday of a Kh-35U anti-ship missile blowing up a vessel.

  • Developed by Russia's Tactical Missiles Corporation, the Kh-35U entered Russian service in 2015, and is Moscow's newest variant of the Kh-35.

The Russian Defense Ministry released a video on Monday of an Su-34 test-firing a Kh-35U anti-ship missile on a vessel. 

"They made a total of eight launches," the defense ministry said in a statement on Tuesday. "All the missiles successfully engaged the targets."

The video below shows an Su-34 before take off then jumps to the vessel being struck several times before the Su-34 lands on a runway. 

Developed by Russia's Tactical Missiles Corporation, the Kh-35U entered Russian service in 2015, and is Moscow's newest variant of the Kh-35.

It has a range of about 155 miles, and can take out surface targets and surface ships displacing 5,000 tons, according to the Defence Blog. 

Russian officials also claim that the Kh-35U can evade any countermeasures, the Defence Blog reported.
