Rudy Giuliani: 'If you're a feminist and you support the porn industry, you should turn in your credentials'
- President Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani said, "If you're a feminist and you support the porn industry you should turn in your credentials," referring to porn star Stormy Daniels.
- Daniels is currently suing to void a non-disclosure agreement she signed regarding an alleged sexual affair with Trump.
- Giuliani cracked down on the sex industry during his tenure as mayor of New York City.
President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani told CNN's Dana Bash on Thursday that feminists shouldn't support porn stars.
"If you're a feminist and you support the porn industry, you should turn in your credentials," he said in reference to porn star Stormy Daniels, who says she had a sexual affair with Trump in 2006.
These latest remarks follow controversial comments Giuliani made Wednesday about Daniels at the "Globes" capital markets conference in Tel Aviv.
"I respect women - beautiful women and women with value - but a woman who sells her body for sexual exploitation I don't respect," he said. "Tell me what damage she suffered. Someone who sells his or her body for money has no good name."
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, is currently suing Trump and his lawyer Michael Cohen to void a non-disclosure agreement she signed in 2016 regarding an alleged 2006 affair with Trump, which included a $130,000 "hush money" payout to Daniels from Cohen.
The payment is currently being investigated in New York for potential campaign finance and bank fraud violations.
Daniels's attorney Michael Avenatti hit back at Giuliani on Twitter, calling him a "misogynist" and his remarks "disgusting and a disgrace."
These latest comments aren't the first time Giuliani has gone after the sex industry.
As mayor of New York City in the 1990s, one of Giuliani's signature accomplishments was spearheading a successful crusade to shut down sex shops, adult video stores, and strip clubs in midtown Manhattan using the city's zoning laws in an effort to "clean up" Times Square.
