Rolls Royce launches Dawn – the ‘sexiest Rolls-Royce ever built’

Rolls Royce launches Dawn – the ‘sexiest Rolls-Royce ever
built’

Rolls Royce recently unveiled its new Dawn, a luxury drop-head coupé to pamper four. The roof is based on the Ghost and Wraith. Just like elder sibling, the 1952 ‘Silver Dawn’ drop-head, the new Dawn is hand-made with 80% unique body panels. It exudes a tradition of charm and abundance unlike any luxury vehicle on the road. It combines the silence of the Wraith with the finesse of a convertible to offer a proposition like no other.

Mueller-Oetvoes, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor explains the reason behind the name.”In its tentative, inchoate, anticipatory state, dawn is the world coming to light from the ethereal dark of the night. The early-day chill of dawn provides an erotic tingle on the skin, awakening the senses and passions as the day begins,” he says.

BI India brings you a tantalizing glance of this one-of-a-kind asset.

The 2+2 setup ensures you have enough space at the rear and unlike most convertibles there is enough legroom for your friends in the back-seat. Also, the opening and closing mechanism of the rag-top takes a mere 22 seconds. The engineering team calls it The Silent Ballet.

The Dawn exudes the dynamism that would attract much younger and more sociable luxury car buyers across the world.

The Dawn’s striking front grille gives it the iconic Rolls Royce masculine look that’s sensuous yet edgy. Under its hood is an iconic power-house - a twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12 engine. It offers 563 bhp and 575 lb-ft of torque.

The bold and high shoulder line with the massive c-pillar and horizontally narrow side window accommodate a wider body. At a casual glance from the side it may seem like a good ole American hot rod.

“Dawn is a Rolls-Royce that feels completely at home on the route Napoleon. It is a contemporary homage to a life on the côte d’azur. The car is a contemporary take on the ‘casino’ lifestyle. Perhaps seen as cavalier in character it is intended to attract people who relish both freedom and sophistication,” Giles Taylor, Director of Design at Rolls Royce explains.

The car’s dashboard is robed in open pore paneling. The horse-shoe shape cabin made entirely out of wood and the finest leather is a work of modern craftsmanship.
