Bangalore: Rohit Sharma will miss the ODI series against the West Indies as he has failed to recover from a shoulder injury. Rohit, who missed three ODIs during the England tour and the entire Champions League T20 due to multiple injuries, might be available for the three-Test series which follows. The five ODI series starts from October 08 while the Test series begins on October 30.
According to a report on ESPNcricinfo, Rohit's fractured finger had healed but it will take three more weeks for the shoulder to recover. He is currently being monitored by BCCI physios at the NCA in Bangalore.
The report also said that the selectors are not willing to rush him back to international cricket considering the packed schedule for India just before the 2015 World Cup. He could be asked to prove his match fitness just before the Test series by playing in the Duleep Trophy.
Rohit could play for West Zone in the semis if they beat East Zone. Should West Zone not qualify for the semis, then Rohit could feature in the Board President's XI against the West Indies in Kanpur on October 25.
