Take a look inside the multi-million dollar home built by the guy who started Chipotle
The property was intended to serve as Ells' "private oasis," located on a 1/3-acre lot overlooking the Denver Country Club golf course.
The house was constructed in 2001, and designed by Thomas Briner.
Ells owned the home until 2008, when he sold it for $3.5 million.
Inside are individual touches that hint at the Chipotle founder's interests.
Ells' culinary interest is apparent in the enormous kitchen suite.
The house also has an outdoor kitchen, complete with a wood-fired pizza oven.
After pizza, guests can take a dip in the salt water pool.
Or, they can recline on the large porch.
The home also comes with a large wine cellar.
And a home theater.
The home's floating glass staircase is particularly striking.
The Denver home has four bedrooms.
That includes one room with bunk beds and a spectacular view.
It has four bathroom, and one half bath.
There's a three-car garage attached to the home.
In 2015, Ells and co-CEO Monty Moran came under fire for making millions while many Chipotle employees were making close to minimum wage.
Recently, however, the CEOs' paycheck have been significantly cut.
Ells' pay dropped to $13.8 million in 2015 from $28.9 million in 2014. The company didn't issue stock options in 2015, as Chipotle's shares lost 30% of their value following E. coli outbreaks linked its restaurants in 14 states.
In 2016, if you want to live like Chipotle's CEO, it just takes $3.8 million — and a move to Denver.
