- Fyre Festival merchandise originally intended to be sold at the fraudulent festival went up for auction July 30.
- The goods were seized from Billy McFarland, architect of the festival, who is now in jail after being found guilty of fraud that culminated in $26 million in losses.
- With just 3 days left in the auction, bids have skyrocketed. Highlights include a $335 hat and an $805 sweatshirt.
Fyre Festival fans have just 3 days left to bid on merchandise seized from Billy McFarland.
With hats selling for more than $300 and a bid for a sweatshirt hitting $805, prices are nearly as absurd as the festival itself.
Highlights of the collection include sweatshirts with $100 price tags and a souvenir token branded with the phrase, "a conspiracy to change the entertainment world."
Billy McFarland, the architect of Fyre Festival, had originally planned to sell the goods at Fyre Festival. Even after the event imploded and McFarland was arrested and charged with fraud, McFarland intended to sell the items while on pre-trial release, according to US Marshal Ralph Sozio.
"The proceeds from the sale of these items, all traceable to McFarland's $26 million fraud, will go toward the victims of his crimes," said Sozio in a press release.
