Target debunked a TikTok video posted on Sunday that claimed the brand was opening a premium concept store called "Target Black" in New York City.

The video showed the entrance of a building with a black Target logo sign hanging above it and had a voiceover with the video creator claiming to be working on a commercial for the new store. A Target spokesperson confirmed to Insider that the content of the video was false.

"The building featured in the video is the exterior of some of our office space in New York City. The content of the video is not accurate," the representative told Insider on Tuesday.

While there won't be any Target concept stores opening in the location any time soon, the space has housed some of Target's corporate offices since 2013.

In the video, the user falsely stated that "Target Black" will feature exclusive product lines from top designers like Balenciaga and Supreme, an organic and locally sourced food section, and a Starbucks Reserve Roastery.

In three days, the video has garnered 141.9K likes and received 1,585 comments.

Target's official TikTok account even commented on the video to set the record straight. "Behind those doors is our New York offices," the comment said.

Although the video was bogus, Target does have plans to expand its storefront space in the city elsewhere. A nearby Target location in Chelsea is currently in the works. The space is approximately 28,000 square feet and is expected to take up an entire city block. The store will join the others that the company has opened in New York in recent years, including storefronts in Times Square and Washington Heights.
