Starbucks is giving almond milk lovers and oat milk enthusiasts a holiday gift this year.

The coffee chain will stop charging extra for non-dairy milk substitutions next month, CEO Brian Niccol said during a Wednesday earnings call.

Beginning November 7, Starbucks will cease surcharges for US customers, which could save some consumers more than 10% on their orders, Niccol said.

Substituting non-dairy milk is the second-most popular customization, Niccol said, after an extra shot of espresso.

"We know customization is an important part of the Starbucks experience, and we want to make it easier for customers to order their beverage just the way they want while still feeling like it's worth it," he said.

Extra costs for non-dairy milk can reach up to 80 cents per order in certain markets, CNBC reported.

The announcement comes as Starbucks sees its US sales fall in a quarter that Niccol described as "disappointing."

The former Chipotle CEO joined Starbucks in September with a goal of boosting the struggling chain.
