Snapchat's newest shoppable feature lets you browse clothing by scanning pictures of your favorite outfits

If you've ever lusted after your friend's wardrobe, you can now shop looks inspired by their outfits - all within Snapchat.
Users to "scan" and shop outfits using a new Snap feature called Screenshop, which was announced along with a number of new features at the company's Partner Summit on Thursday.
When Snapchatters scan their friends' clothing, or upload a saved photo, Screenshop will allow them to shop recommendations from hundreds of brands.
"It's like having a personal shopper right in your Camera, and it's starting to roll out today," Snap said in a statement.
Screenshop a new function in the Scan feature, which can help "identify types of plants, dog breeds, wine bottles, car models, songs etc. through partner integrations." The company has been focused on introducing technology to scan and analyze real-world objects since 2017.
Over 170 million new Snapchatters use Scan every month, according to the company.
"Scan matches what you see through our camera with relevant AR experiences," a release from Snap said.
The added shoppable feature will now allow users to go a step further, and actually acquire products similar to outfits they come across in the real world.
"Snap is a camera company - for many years we have referenced our long-term vision for our camera, augmented reality, and 'computing overlaid on the world around us,'" a release from Snap said.
