McDonald's is adding four menu hacks to its official US lineup.

The hacks are made by combining some of McDonald's most popular items, like a Big Mac, a McChicken, and a Filet-O-Fish.

The dishes don't come ready-made, though. By ordering the hacks, diners will get the separate menu items needed for the dish and have to assemble them themselves.

The hacks are available as set menu items from January 31, though McDonald's says this is for a limited time only, without specifying when they'll be taken off menus.

McDonald's fans have been hacking the burger chain's menu for years, finding novel ways to combine their favorite ingredients or replicate menu items offered by other restaurants.

While some fan-made McDonald's hacks swap out ingredients to save you money, such as switching your Big Mac for a cheaper McDouble with Mac Sauce, the official hacks the chain has added to its menu cost the same as buying the components individually.

The biggest hack item available on McDonald's official menu is the Land, Air, and Sea, a tower of fish, chicken, and beef that comes in at 1,330 calories and 2,150 mg of salt.

The Land, Air, and Sea combines a Big Mac, a McChicken, and a Filet-O-Fish, and because of what those dishes contain, you end up with a fish patty, a chicken patty, and two beef patties, as well as a slice and a half of cheese. It comes with mayonnaise, tartar sauce, and Big Mac sauce, too.

You can also get the Surf and Turf, which is only available on the McDonald's app and combines a Double Cheeseburger and a Filet-of-Fish.

The Crunchy Double is made up of a Double Cheeseburger with six chicken nuggets below the two beef patties and lashings of BBQ sauce.

The Hash Brown McMuffin adds a hash brown to a Sausage McMuffin with Egg.

The menu-hacks promotion requires no new ingredients or employee training, as Insider's Mary Meisenzahl reports.
