Kourtney Kardashian Barker is taking on the wellness industry with her own line of gummies, after reaching a point where she was taking 30 supplements a day
  • Kourtney Kardashian Barker is launching Lemme on September 27.
  • Lemme is a line of natural vitamin and supplement gummies.

Matcha, CBD, Ashwagandha, Lion's mane.

In Kourtney Kardashian Barker's hometown of Los Angeles, these could easily be varieties of sushi, types of beer, or even baby names, as some influencers joke.

Instead, Kardashian Barker is incorporating these ingredients into a new line of vitamin and supplement gummies she's launching later this month called Lemme.

The brand is starting with three flavors of gummies — Lemme Matcha, Lemme Focus, and Lemme Chill.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal Magazine this weekend, Kardashian Barker said the brand's name came to her "organically," similar to how she landed upon her own children's names: Mason Dash, Penelope Scotland, Reign Aston.

"I couldn't think of the right word for each scenario [in which to take a supplement], but we'd say all the time, 'Lemme focus on this.' Once we realized we use it so much in our vocabulary, none of us could get it out of our heads," she said.

Lemme says that its products are natural, vegan, gluten-free, and have been "clinically-tested."

But what constitutes "clinically-tested" might be up for debate. Kardashian Barker told WSJ Magazine that she "muscle-tested" the gummies on herself. Muscle-testing is a form of alternative medicine that aims to detect deficiencies within the body. It's considered to be a subjective method of evaluating muscle function by the National Center for Biotechnology Information.

Lemme is the latest addition to the Kardashian clan's growing business empire. Last week, the more famous Kardashian sister, Kim, unveiled her next endeavor: SKKY Partners, a private equity firm where she'll invest in luxury and consumer products and media. Kim's shapewear company Skims was valued at $3.2 billion earlier this year. The youngest Kardashian sibling, Kylie Jenner, launched an entire generation of overlined lips with her eponymous cosmetics line, Kylie Cosmetics. She sold a majority stake in the brand to global beauty company Coty for $1.2 billion in 2020.

Lemme is Kardashian Barker's second foray into the wellness industry after launching lifestyle site Poosh in 2019. Yet Kardashian Barker herself has been immersed in the world of supplements and alternative medicine for years. She told WSJ Magazine that she was taking up to 30 supplements a day at one point, which "wasn't enjoyable."

That was one of her motivations for launching Lemme.

It's not as easy to be a wellness junkie in Los Angeles as one might think. Kardashian Barker says she has rigorously committed herself to prioritizing health and wellness in the years leading up to the launch of Lemme.

She told the Journal she manages to "eat clean" by staying at home and being "pretty antisocial."
