Chick-fil-A is the third largest fast-food chain in the US in terms of sales. Only McDonald's and Starbucks generate more revenue.

The company's headquarters, or Chick-fil-A Support Center, is located at 5200 Buffington Road in Atlanta, Georgia.

The corporate campus, established in 1984, has an on-site cafeteria, training center, test kitchen, wellness center, nature trails, and is surrounded by 73 wooded acres, according to the chain's website.

"You'll have the opportunity to take on meaningful work for the greater good and build a career that's more than a job," the company states on its website.

S. Truett Cathy founded the popular fast-food chain in the late 1960s. Like the privately-held burger institution In-N-Out, Chick-fil-A has always been a family-run business.

The current CEO of the chain is Andrew Cathy. The grandson of S. Truett Cathy has led the chain since 2021. Before that, his father, Dan Cathy, served as CEO from 2013 to 2021. Andrew is only the third member of the Cathy family to lead Chick-fil-A since it was founded in 1967.

Interest in the chain is so high the company offers a "backstage" tour of its corporate campus for $10 or $20 per person. With the $10 Classic tour, visitors learn the history of the company and its founder S. Truett Cathy. The walking tour also includes a visit to the chain's History Museum, Car Museum, and Truett's Office.

The Deluxe $20 tour includes the above, plus a shuttle ride to the chain's test kitchen and a visit to the Nest, the chain's training center.

The company also mentors high school students at its support center through a program called Beyond School Walls.

In 2022, Chick-fil-A's 2,800 restaurants generated about $18.8 billion in sales in the US. Most of its stores are owned by Chick-fil-A franchisees. In 2022, most locations averaged nearly $8.7 million in annual sales. That's more than double the revenue made in a year by the average McDonald's. And, remember, Chick-fil-A isn't open on Sundays.
