An East Coast pizza chain has used a promotional sale to take jabs at Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
&pizza, a pizza chain in Washington, DC, that often uses memes and internet jokes in its marketing, made Thomas the subject of its latest promotion after a ProPublica report disclosed that he accepted luxury trips paid by a GOP megadonor.
According to Fox Business, &pizza sent an email to customers on Monday that referenced Thomas taking monetary gifts.
"Every pie on sale, Just like Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas," the email read, according to Fox.
The promotion which ends Thursday, includes a discount on all pizzas to $10 down from the usual price of around $13, Fox reported.
The company's social media accounts regularly post political and pop culture-related memes. Two weeks prior to their Thomas-themed sale, &pizza's Instagram account posted a photo of Donald Trump captioned, "Today's weather forecast: Stormy."
According to the company's Twitter account, &pizza was established in 2012, and has locations on the East Coast, including New York City, Philadelphia, and Miami. Its posts range from references to the hit TV show "White Lotus" to words of support to activists during the 2020 riots following the death of George Floyd.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, along with other democrats, slammed Thomas for accepting the vacations after ProPublica published the bombshell report.
&pizza didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on its latest promotion from Insider.
