Peanut butter-loving pooches can soon be paid while enjoying their favorite treat.

Pet wellness company Honest Paws is offering $100 an hour to dogs that can be ambassadors for its peanut butter, according to an August 1 announcement. Applications close on September 1.

The job description includes strutting about local dog parks, canine events, and pet stores, as well as "showing off your love for our yummy Honest Paws Peanut Butter" and being "the star of live treat-tasting shows."

Required attributes for the job include "bark-tastic social skills" and a tail that "won't stop wagging."

To qualify for the job, pets must also have a human who can accompany them to events and help with "tricky stuff" — like opening peanut butter jars.

All breeds can apply for the job, said Honest Paws, because it's an equal-opportunity employer. The company did not specify how many ambassadors they are seeking.

Honest Paw's investment could go a long way to sell its peanut butter which comes with a nearly $30 price tag for each jar.

Americans spent $58.1 billion on pet food and treats in 2022, according to the American Pet Products Association. The association expects spending to rise by another 8% to $62.7 billion in 2023.

Honest Paws did not immediately respond to a request from Insider for comment sent outside regular business hours.
