A 15-foot red statue of a spoon has disappeared from outside a newly-opened Dairy Queen restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona, and its owners are offering free ice creams to whoever helps track it down.

The spoon disappeared from outside the store last week between Friday evening and Saturday morning, Phoenix Police Department public information officer Sgt. Brian Bower told Insider.

Raman Kalra, who owns the store along with his wife, told Fox Business that the location had only opened on March 6, "and we were all excited," with lots of people taking pictures with the spoon.

Kalra told the outlet that after noticing the statue was nowhere to be seen, the store's manager had driven round the neighborhood "to see if somebody just left it around there" and had called the police after being unable to find it.

Whoever returns the spoon can have a Blizzard in each flavor from Dairy Queen's summer menu as a reward, Kalra said. "The whole neighborhood is waiting for it to come back," he added. Bower told Insider on Thursday that no suspects had yet been identified.

Dairy Queen told Fox Business that the giant red spoons only adorn the exterior of restaurants built or renovated in recent years.

Kalra said that he and his wife owned 34 Dairy Queen stores, but only two had spoon statues outside – and this figure has now been reduced to one.

"I'm pretty sure it was the first one in Arizona," he said.
