Retail sales rose by 0.6% in June, according to the Census Bureau, better than expected.

Excluding gas and autos, retail sales rose by 0.7%.

Economists forecast that retail sales rose 0.1% month-over-month, according to Bloomberg.

The Census Bureau also noted that retail trade sales were up 0.7% from the previous month.

Last month, the Census Bureau reported that retail sales rose by 0.5%.
