There's a whole lot we still don't know, but WaPo reports that RGIII hopes to avoid total reconstructive surgery if the ligaments are partially torn and not completely torn.

That sounds like a good sign.

But again, there's a TON that we don't know.

It's unclear if the tears are new or from previous injuries. In addition, it's unclear how long RGIII will and sidelined and whether he'll need full reconstructive surgery.

From WaPo:

"One person with knowledge of the situation said Griffin might have to undergo exploratory surgery to determine the extent of the damage and whether the injuries are new. Another said Griffin hopes to avoid full-blown reconstructive surgery if the tears are partial, even if they are new injuries."

Earlier today, coach Mike Shanahan said the results of the MRI were inconclusive, and that RGIII needed more tests to determine the extent of the injury.

So we don't know a whole lot of important information right now. We could learn more over the next few days, when RGIII meets with Dr. James Andrews to undergo more tests.
