REPORT: Heavy gunfire during police operations reported in Paris

French media are reporting that there has been heavy gunfire during a police operation in Saint Denis, a nothern suburb of Paris, early Wednesday morning. 

According to a source cited by The Daily Telegraph, there was an exchange of gunfire during the operation. The source could not confirm who was targeted in the operation. 

French television station BFMTV said some police had been wounded during the operation.

Videos and photos from the scene are now cropping up on social media. Their veracity cannot yet be confirmed.
