REPORT: Brussels bombing suspect Najim Laachraoui arrested
Home1 min read

Najim Laachraoui, who is suspected of being involved in the Brussels terrorist attacks, has been arrested in Anderlecht, the Press Association is reporting, citing reports in Belgium.

Belgian news site DH reports Laachraoui was captured by the Belgian Federal Police's Counter-Terrorism unit on Wednesday morning.

The Prosecutor's Office is yet to confirm the news, and will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. CET.

This is a developing story.

Reuters reports that Laachraoui's DNA has been found in houses used by the Paris attackers last year and had traveled to Hungary in September with Paris attacks prime suspect Salah Abdeslam, who was captured last week.

DH reports that he travelled to Syria in February 2012 and is originally from Schaerbeek in Brussels.
