REPORT: Another Romney Is Considering A Bid For John Kerry's Senate Seat

Tagg Romney, the eldest son of former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, is weighing a possible bid for the Massachusetts Senate seat vacated by new Secretary of State John Kerry.

The Boston Herald reported that Tagg Romney is considering running, as Republicans scramble to find a viable candidate after Scott Brown announced last Friday that he would not seek the seat. Kerry, a Democrat, replaced Secretary of State Hillary Clinton beginning on Monday.

The Herald reported over the weekend that the Massachusetts Republican Party was urging both Tagg and Ann Romney, Mitt's wife, to run for the seat. The thinking is that both Tagg and Ann Romney would have good name recognition and would be able to mount a viable five-month challenge against Democratic Reps. Ed Markey and Stephen Lynch.

Unlike his father, Tagg Romney has no political experience, though he was a very visible surrogate during the presidential campaign. Tagg got the most airtime from a statement in which he said he wanted to "take a swing" at President Barack Obama after the second presidential debate.

Tagg has been fairly silent since Mitt Romney's election loss. On Saturday, he Instagrammed a photo of two of his children getting their haircuts.
