Reliance Jio is preparing new tariff plan after freebies get over and it could be as low as Rs 100

Reliance Jio has started planning its tariff plans once free voice and data offers get over after March 31.

The new tariff plan is likely to be almost free as Reliance Jio is going aggressive in becoming Number 1 telecom operator in India.

Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio may roll out new plans for a paltry sum of Rs 100.

Since its launch in September, Reliance Jio has garnered more than 72 million subscribers, disrupting the market with free voice calls and data. This led Airtel, Idea and Vodafone to slash their rates too.

"We expect many will go back to using their primary number if the (free) offer is withdrawn, and Jio could well lose over half its subscribers if it starts charging more without fixing the call drop problem,” Chris Lane, a senior analyst at US brokerage, Bernstein told ET.

Several analysts feel Reliance Jio will have to work around cheaper tariffs also because its rivals have already reduced tariffs.

Reliance Jio is not going to settle for less and last week it decided to rake in Rs 30,000 crore into Jio to expand its network.
