The team is 0-2 since Robert Griffin III returned from a dislocated ankle. After the game, Griffin caught a ton of heat for seemingly passing the blame onto his teammates.
When asked to describe the difference between his performance on this year's team and the team that won the NFC East in 2012, Griffin said that all great quarterbacks need good teams around them (via WaPo):
"We were playing good team ball [in 2012]. It takes 11 men. It doesn't take one guy, and that's proven. If you want to look at the good teams in this league and the great quarterbacks, the Peytons and the Aaron Rodgers, those guys don't play well if their guys don't play well. They don't. We need everybody. I need every one of those guys in that locker room, and I know they're looking at me saying the same thing."
He's right, of course. But perhaps comparing yourself to Peyton Manning and implying your teammates let you down isn't the best look after getting throttled by the Bucs.
This Redskins team had high expectations coming into the season. Part of the reason for those high expectations was wide receiver Desean Jackson, who signed with the team as a free agent after getting cut by the Eagles, reportedly for off-the-field issues.
On Monday, Jackson dropped this weird quote onto his Instagram page.
It's basically what RGIII said in simpler terms, we guess?
Jackson and RGIII are the least of these teams problems on the field. But if there's a rift growing here, things in Washington could get even worse.
