A budget smartphone company you’ve never heard of just launched a four camera phone for under ₹10,000
Everyone’s heard of the bigwigs like Xiaomi, Samsung and Apple but with the budget smartphone market in burgeoning in India — newer players are learning to how to make a name for themselves.
Just over a year old, Realme is an Oppo sub-brand that showed a yearly growth 602.4% between April and June 2019, according to IDC.
Today the Chinese smartphone brand launched its latest offering, the Realme 5 And Realme 5 Pro. Both phones feature four cameras in the back at prices that fall in the budget range.
The Realme 5 starts out a price of ₹9,999 for the 32GB storage and with 3GB RAM, which can be upgraded to a device with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for a thousand bucks more.
The top variant of the Realme 5 costs ₹11,999 and has 4GB RAM coupled with 128GB of storage.
The Realme 5 Pro, on the other hand, starts out at ₹13,999 with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage with a higher variant at ₹14,999 with with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage and a top-tier device priced ₹16,999 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage..
Realme’s main competition will be Xiaomi’s upcoming budget devices, the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro, which are also expected to have a quad camera setup when they launch in India on 28 August 2019.
