5) Roundhay Park, Leeds — One of West Yorkshire's most spectacular displays

Thousands are expected to gather for one of West Yorkshire's largest bonfires and firework displays in the picturesque Roundhay Park, located in the Roundhay suburb of Leeds. The bonfire will be lit at 7:30 p.m. with the pyrotechnics kicking off shortly afterwards at 8 p.m.

This is as extreme as bonfire night gets. The Ottery St Mary Tar Barrel festival takes place every year and sees participants running through the streets while carrying burning barrels of tar until the heat becomes unbearable or the barrel breaks down.
The 400-year-old tradition attracts spectators from around the world but has been threatened with closure in recent years due to public liability, so if you want to see it, you may have limited time.
Be warned: this event is not suitable for children, pets, or people who don't enjoy crowded environments.
3) Leeds Castle, Kent —The south-east's biggest movie-themed extravaganza

If you want a truly unique bonfire night, head on down to Lewes, Sussex. Every year, participants take part in a series of processions to mark the anniversary of the foiling of Guy Fawkes' gunpowder plot and to commemorate the memory of the town's 17 protestant martyrs.
It's a tradition steeped in history and parades through the centre of Lewes. The procession is free to watch, but entry to the bonfire and firework display costs £3.
