RACHEL MADDOW: Justice Scalia Is 'Like The Guy On Your Blog Comment Thread Who Is Using The N-Word'

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow blasted U.S. Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia on The Daily Show Thursday, calling him a "troll" who purposefully tries to make people upset.

The liberal Maddow was irked after she traveled to Washington for the high court's oral arguments on the 1965 Voting Rights Act on Wednesday. During the arguments, Scalia — arguably the court's most conservative-leaning justice referred to the VRA's continued renewal by Congress as part of a "perpetuation of racial entitlement."

"I think he does now how that sounds. And that's the neat thing about being there in person, is you can really see — oh, actually, he's a troll," Maddow said, prompting applause from the studio audience.

"He knows it's offensive. And he knows he's going to get a gasp from the court room, which he got. And he loves it. He's like the guy on your blog comment thread who is using the N-word. ... 'Oh, I made you mad? Did I make you mad? Did I make you mad? Did I make you mad?' — he's like that. He's that kind of guy."
