Qualcomm’s Third Quarter Earnings Are Out, Are Up By 9 Percent Year-On-Year

Qualcomm today announced its third quarter earnings and the outcome is good. When compared to the same time period last year, the revenues are up by 9% and 7% sequentially. Qualcomm shipped 225 million MSM chipsets worldwide, which is up by 31% year-on-year and 20% sequentially.

March’s quarter total reported device sales are 51.8 billion that is up by 3% YOY. This is good news for the industry as the demand for smartphones driven by Qualcomm chipsets is increasing at a rapid pace. More and more mobile players are picking up Qualcomm chipsets. These include some of the top Indian phone makers as well. Very soon we might see more low to mid-end mobile phones from Indian manufacturer with Qualcomm chips that will heat up the market further.
